Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Mrs. Charlotte Lawson's contributions to the community of Pittsburgh, and congratulates her recognition as the eldest member of the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Charlotte Lawson, at 91 years of age, is the eldest member of the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, located at 6300 East Liberty; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Church will host a Christmas Celebration at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church at Highland Avenue on December 17th for children ages K-12, the fifth year the event is held, with this year's theme being the "Christmas Shoe Boxes Give Away"; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lawson will be honored at the Christmas Celebration for her commitment and contributions to the community, an individual who has lived by the motto "It is better to give than to receive", her unselfish nature, love of giving and generosity evidenced by years of gifts in the form of US Series EE Bonds and baked goods to different churches; and,
 
WHEREAS, known in the community as a virtuous person, Mrs. Lawson has a close relationship to children and advocates on their behalf, seeing in them the promise for tomorrow and their potential to become the great leaders of the city, state and nation;
