Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Carl Truss for his years of service to the City of Pittsburgh and its citizens; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare November 29, 2011 to be “Carl Truss Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Carl Truss began working with the City of Pittsburgh Cable Bureau in August of 1989 and currently serves as an Editor/Videographer covering Pittsburgh City Council meetings and other departmental events City-wide; and   
WHEREAS, after 22 years of service to the City of Pittsburgh, Carl will retire on November 30th but will continue providing part-time camerawork to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates; and
WHEREAS, Carl has worked under Mayors Masloff, Murphy, O'Connor, and Ravenstahl and currently serves alongside Supervisor Marcia Benson and co-workers Henry Hurt, Bob Means, and Alex Fisher; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his video work, Carl is an accomplished photographer who has participated in the City of Pittsburgh's annual art show and placed in the winner's circle; and
WHEREAS, Carl is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, an aspiring author, and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys kayaking and motorcycling; and
WHEREAS, his retirement will allow him to spend more time with his children and grandchildren.
