Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends the Franktuary owners for their small business success and for investing in the Pittsburgh community; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares July of 2008, “Hot Dog Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, three entrepreneurs, one with the dream of becoming the "Dave Thomas of Hot Dogs," and another having just invested in a Pittsburgh-based house church called Three Nails, joined forces;
 
WHEREAS, in 2003, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral donated their Oliver Avenue storefront to Three Nails; and
 
WHEREAS, Megan Lindsey, Tim Tobitsch, and Matt Niblack opened the hot dog shop, eventually known as Franktuary, and created a profit sharing arrangement with Three Nails; and
 
WHEREAS, the co-owners are supporters of the arts and frequently have musicians play in the store during lunch hour; and
 
WHEREAS, they support local businesses by carrying sodas from the Natrona Bottling Company and other products from Pittsburgh based businesses; and
 
WHEREAS, in the 2008 WQED/Pittsburgh Magazine's Readers' Poll, Franktaury was named the "Best Downtown Lunch Spot;" and
 
WHEREAS, July is national hotdog month.
