Title
Resolution authorizing the sale to Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh of certain property known as the Highland Building located in the 8th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh at 121 S. Highland Avenue and designated as Block 84-B, Lot 68 for $1.00 plus expenses. (Council District No. 9).
Body
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Cooperation Law, 35 P.S. 1741 et seq., authorizes a public body such as the City of Pittsburgh to convey property, with or without consideration and upon such terms as it may determine, to a redevelopment authority for the purpose of aiding and cooperating in the operation of an authority and in the planning, acquisition, clearance, replanning, relocation and redevelopment activities of an authority; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh finds it to be in the best interests of the residents of the City to convey all of the City's right, title and interest in and to that certain property known as the Highland Building designated as Block 84-B, Lot 68, located at 121 S. Highland Avenue in the 8th Ward of the City (the "Property") to Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and desires, pursuant to the Redevelopment Cooperation Law, to approve the sale;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The proper officers of the City of Pittsburgh are hereby authorized to execute a deed conveying, for $1.00, plus necessary and incidental expenses, all of the City's right, title and interest, if any, in and to the Property known as the Highland Building located in the 8th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh at 121 S. Highland Avenue and designated as Block 84-B, Lot 68 to Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh.
