Whereas, on May 15th, 2005 the East Liberty Health Care Center will celebrate their 15th Anniversary at the Historic First Presbyterian Church & Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Downtown Pittsburgh; and
Whereas, the East Liberty Family Health Care Center is a family Doctors' office, as good as anyone have seen but with one big difference, anyone can get top quality services whether insured or not; and
Whereas, for 23 years the "Center" has responded to real needs in the community, from the homeless to the housebound, to young mothers, to individuals who have a substance abuse problem, the "Center" is out in the community everyday helping people reconnect with a more healthy life; and
Whereas, some patients are homeless, some work at low paying, part time jobs, some are fully insured people who want quality care. The East Liberty Family Health Care Center's doors are always opened to all who come; and
Whereas, the "Center" expresses the love of God through compassionate care, prayer, pastoral counseling, and the support of local churches, following the words of Saint Frances: "Preach the good news by all means possible, when necessary use words".

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does express its great appreciation to The East Liberty Family Health Care Center for its inspired efforts to offer affordable health care to all those in need.
