WHEREAS, Nikko Poole began his scouting journey as a Tiger Cub in first grade at just 6 years old; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko Poole has completed an Eagle Scout project at Brookline Teen Outreach by repairing the lower floor bathrooms and painting decorations for each stall; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko Poole also conducted an art drive for Brookline Teen Outreach gathering enough supplies for an entire year; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko Poole was voted into the Order of the Arrow because he exemplifies the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko Poole has met the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 15, the youngest ever in his troop, he is also the first scout of color to have received the rank of Eagle in his troop; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko Poole is a 10th grade honor roll student at Pittsburgh CAPA majoring in visual art, he has been nominated for The Clay Place’s 2017 High School Student Exhibition; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko Poole is an active athlete participating in Cross Country and Track at Pittsburgh CAPA where he has lettered in discuss, he is also active on Brookline’s Citiparks Basketball Team; and,
WHEREAS, Nikko’s Eagle Scout project and active presence in the community has benefitted Brookline, and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Nikko Poole; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Monday, November 19, 2018, to be “Nikko Poole Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
