WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Langley High School Wrestling Team had an overall city record of 9 wins and 1 loss and took home the City League Championship Title on Thursday, February 3, 2011 against Pittsburgh Brashear; and,
WHEREAS, the Langley Mustangs had a 27-point comeback which included important wins from Tawaun Henderson (103) and Jordan Perrucii (112); and,
WHEREAS, the final bout was with injured wrestler Donny Scholz who had a 3-2 win and later was quoted as saying "that one was for Mr. Barkley", a former Langely wrestling coach and teacher who passed away suddenly on January 27 of this year; and,
WHEREAS, the Langley Mustangs are Seniors Rodeny Culberson, Rob Redman, Marcus Russell, Donny Scholz, Sean Scott, Tyler Spencer and Vinnie Vignone; Junior Rich Eubanks; Sophomores Jamir Guinn, Jordan Perrucci and Ryan Krause and Freshmen Matt Dripps, Tawaun Henderson, Victor Trulli and Jaquahn Wright; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Head Coach Ed White, Assistant Coach Lenny Orbovich for the work and time sacrificed for the athletes and for the season you have had and commend Managers Karina Kasavich, Courtney Killmeyer, Victoria Hernandez, for the support you give to the Mustangs and finally Principal Lou Ann Zwieryznski and Athletic Director Karen Arnold for supporting and continuing the excellent sports activities at Langley High School; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, February 15, 2011, to be "Langley Mustangs Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
