Title: WHEREAS, Geno Michael Mazza was born December 1, 1964, and is the youngest of four boys. He graduated from Langley High School in 1982; and,

WHEREAS, Geno Michael Mazza was born December 1, 1964, and is the youngest of four boys. He graduated from Langley High School in 1982; and,

WHEREAS, Geno married his lovely wife Karen in 1990.  Together they raised 3 daughters and are blessed with a son-in-law, 2 grandchildren and 3 grand-dogs, all French Bulldogs; and,

 

WHEREAS, he has been a union Carpenter for forty years and has earned a reputation for being hard-working and dedicated to his craft; and,

 

WHEREAS, Geno’s service to his neighborhood has included membership in the Kiwanis Club of Sheraden, the American Legion Langley Post #496, and serving as a past president of the Sheraden Community Council; and, 

 

WHEREAS, he is always willing to give a helping hand if he is able. He assisted with the Holy Innocents Church Festival and its monthly bingos.  Also, he helped replace the roof at the Sheraden Park pavilion and the sidewalks at Holy Innocents Church; and,

 

WHEREAS, Geno enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening. He even grows his own zucchini for his famous zucchini bread, makes his own pickles and spaghetti sauce; and, 

 

WHEREAS, those who know him describe him as genuine, good-hearted, honest, loving, kind, sincere, thoughtful, entertaining, and giving the best bear hugs. He is a lifelong fan of the Pirates and Steelers, but his greatest love is his family; and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Geno Mazza and wish him a Happy 60th Birthday; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Sunday, December 1, 2024 to be “Geno Mazza Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
