Body
WHEREAS, Faith Weinstein, Executive Director of the Tri-State of Israel Bonds, lived a life devoted to her family, her community, and the State of Israel; and

WHEREAS, Faith Weinstein succeeded in life by doing things the old fashioned way, through sheer hard work and determination; and

WHEREAS, Faith Weinstein, mother of three, began studying for a college degree at age 35, attending night and weekend classes at the University of Pittsburgh while working at the Jewish Community Center in Squirrel Hill; by the time she completed her degree 8 years later, she had been named Executive Director of the Conference of Soviet Jewry for the United Jewish Federation; and

WHEREAS, Faith Weinstein joined Pittsburgh's State of Israel Bonds office in 1990, became its Executive Director in 1992, and in the ensuing 14 years, under her guidance, the Campaign succeeded in raising approximately $250 million, remarkably enough from both Jewish and non-Jewish sources; and

WHEREAS, although Pittsburgh is the nation's 57th largest city, it sells the seventh most bonds for the State of Israel, due in no small measure to Faith Weinstein's energy and warmth; and

WHEREAS, Faith Weinstein, beloved daughter of Ruth and Irwin Eskovitz, sister of Jay Eskovitz, mother of Alan Weinstein, Heidi Marchese and Caryn Gale, grandmother of 8 grandchildren, and dearest friend of Jeffrey Herzog, passed away too soon on July 12, 2006.
