Title

Resolution approving execution of a Contract for Disposition by Sale of Land by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the Sports and Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for the sale of a portion of Block 2-C, Lot 300 situated in 3^rd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh in the Mellon Arena Redevelopment Area, on which SEA will construct new streets and associated public infrastructure.  (Council District No. 6)

Body

Whereas, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("URA") has requested authorization to execute a Contract for Disposition by Sale of Land (the "Contract") by and between the URA and the Sports and Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County ("SEA") in connection with the sale of a portion of Block 2-C, Lot 300 for $1.00, said property being located in the Mellon Arena Redevelopment Area in the 3^rd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, and on which SEA will construct new streets and associated public infrastructure improvements; and

Whereas, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh believes that the proposed Contract is in the best interest of the City of Pittsburgh and the desires to give its approval in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.      That execution of a Contract for Disposition by Sale of Land by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the Sports and Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for the sale of a portion of Block 2-C, Lot 300 for $1.00, said property being located in the Mellon Arena Redevelopment Area in the 3^rd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, be and the same is hereby approved.
