WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that works to recruit, train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow - trendsetters, elected officials and civically engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape; and,
WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council recruits individuals and equips them with the skills necessary to be civic leaders in their communities and workplaces and guarantees no financial barriers to participants through New Leaders Council Institutes, which are recognized as the nation's premiere progressive training programs; and,
WHEREAS, NLC graduates comprise an ever-expanding group of diverse, new progressive leaders who are rising to the top of their respective fields creating an exciting network of individuals, highly-skilled in collaborating across sectors to improve the progressive infrastructure and ensure strong democracy, social justice, and equal opportunity; and,
WHEREAS, the New Leaders Council Institutes were held in 35 cities nationwide in 2017, training nearly 700 new leaders across sectors joining more than 3,000 alumni across the globe; and,
WHEREAS, the New Leaders Institute Pittsburgh will graduate a 2017 cohort of Leaders Fellows who will include Lukas W.
