Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does welcome the Wilmore family to our city and wish them a happy reunion and safe journeys home.

Whereas, Pittsburgh is honored to host the first ever Wilmore Family Reunion held on Friday, July 28th through Sunday, July 30th, 2006.  Our city was chosen from among the many great cities in which the Wilmores have settled; and
 
Whereas, this reunion will allow the Wilmore family to strengthen and celebrate their family bond with such events as bowling on Friday the 28th, a picnic in Sandcastle on the 29th, and a dinner at the Holiday Inn in Wilkinsburg on the 30th.
 
Whereas, the Wilmore family has been blessed with many relatives, and they have set down roots all across our country and internationally.  There will be nearly 200 attendees traveling from as far away as California, Washington State, Montana, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Washington, D.C., and even London, England; and
 
Whereas, the Wilmore family traces its roots to Grant Wilmore and Mamie Awkard, who lovingly raised a remarkable 18 children.  Nine of these first branches of the family tree are still living and range in age from 83 to 57; and
