WHEREAS, founded in 1997 by Dave Colaizzi and Lou Camerlengo, Five Star Development provides custom software development and training services to government, workforce development, nonprofit, corporate, and higher education clients; and,
WHEREAS, over the course of its 20 year history, the company has received numerous accolades, such as an INC 5000 fastest growing company, a top 100 workplace in Pennsylvania, and the best place to work in Southwestern Pennsylvania; and,
WHEREAS, Five Star Development has participated in Steel City CodeFest twice and was a finalist in the 2016 BNY Mellon UpPrize Challenge; and,
WHEREAS, through the company’s Five Star Cares initiative, staff and leadership donate volunteer time, project support, and financial contributions to Pittsburgh-based philanthropic and nonprofit organizations, such as Community Human Services, Friends of the Riverfront, Just Harvest, Light of Life Rescue Mission, Neighborhood Legal Services Association, the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, and more; and,
WHEREAS, Five Star Development moved from Downtown Pittsburgh into two buildings that owner Dave Colaizzi purchased and renovated in the city’s Uptown and Manchester neighborhoods; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Five Star Development and its leadership and staff for 20 years of success, innovation, and philanthropy; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare May 4th, 2017 to be “Five Star Development 20th Anniversary Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
