Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, recognizes the great accomplishments of Head Coach Janet Davis and the Allderdice Girls' basketball team; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, on behalf of the citizens of our great city, proclaim Tuesday, March 14, 2006 "Allderdice Girls' Basketball Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

Whereas, Taylor Allderdice High School is one of the most respected urban educational institutions in the City of Pittsburgh; and
 
Whereas, the success of the school's athletic teams brings pride and honor to the school, and the Girls' Basketball Team provided the school with a record of 23 wins and 4 losses this year, including a victory over Westinghouse in the City League Championship on March 2, 2006, at Mellon Arena; and
 
Whereas, Head Coach Janet Davis and her Assistant Dennis Boyce have been instrumental in the team's success through their dedication to the young women on the team; and
 
Whereas, team members Hallie Groff, Liza Walrath, Abby Pellow, Hope Barfield, Shawniece Johnson, Mattie Collins-Wood, Lee Schmerin, Lacree Irish, Emily Silverman, Hayle Warner, Cassie Pellow, Molly Pollack, and Erin Johnson comprise the Championship Team; and
 
Whereas, this victory heralds the team's return to prominence in the City League; and
