WHEREAS, "Dress for Success" is celebrating their worldwide annual awareness campaign. March 6 - 12, 2005 is S.O.S. week. Women across the United States are encouraged to "Send One Suit" to a woman in need by bringing it to their local dress barn store; and
WHEREAS, "Dress for Success" originally started as a program of the now-closed "The Corporate Collection". It helps disadvantaged women conquer the awesome task of entering the profession workforce and its success depends on the support of the community; and
WHEREAS, "Dress for Success" focuses on Empowering woman to get and keep a job that begins a career. It all starts with a suit and image consulting from the "Dress Boutique" to prepare her for the interview or first day on the job; and
WHEREAS "Dress for Success" programs focus on life skills, such as work place etiquette, stress management and financial planning; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend the "Dress For Success" for knowing the importance of first impressions in the professional world.
