WHEREAS the Frick Lady Dolphins started off their undefeated season on Friday, December 5, 2008 with a 64 to 3 win against Mifflin Middle School. Their regular season ended January 13th 2009, 54 to 11 win over Sunnyside; and
WHEREAS the Lady Dolphins continued winning throughout the quarter-finals, semi-finals winding up at the City Championship for the second year in a row. The City Championship game was played at Allerdice High School on Thursday, January 29, 2009. Even though the game against Schaffer was the biggest challenge that they faced all year, they still were able to prevail with a 30 to 29 victory and remain Back to Back Champions; and
WHEREAS their coach is constantly urging the young ladies to prevail in academics as well as athletics. Coach Walker believes in establishing an on and off the court relationship with her players, making sure that they are equipped and prepared to move on to the next level. This is her second year coaching at Frick and their second Pittsburgh City Basketball Championship title; and
WHEREAS the Frick Dolphins Boys Basketball Team started off their undefeated season on Friday, December 5, 2008 with a 57 to 28 win against Mifflin Middle School. Their regular season ended January 13th 2009, 49 to 27 win over Sunnyside; and
WHEREAS the Boys team continued winning throughout the quarter-finals, semi-finals winding up at the City Championship for the second year in a row. The City Championship game was played at Allerdice High School on Thursday, January 29, 2009. They defeated Brookline School 48 to 41 to win the Boys Middle School City Championship. The Dolphins are coached by Mr. Andre Mcgee.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby wish to congratulate both of these teams, their coaches, and managers for their winning seasons as well as commend them for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
