WHEREAS, Tom Blaskiewicz, currently the Deputy Director for Retailer Operations of the Pennsylvania Lottery, will soon retire after twenty-eight years of exemplary work; and
WHEREAS, through his strong leadership, positive mentoring, and unmatched energy level, Tom Blaskiewicz has inspired countless colleagues and employees; and
WHEREAS, Tom Blaskiewicz has worked tirelessly to enhance, promote, and professionalize the Pennsylvania Lottery system, which has brought many millions of dollars to important senior programs; and
WHEREAS, upon Tom's retirement in January, a long and lasting record of great performance and unparalleled results will be his legacy to the PA Lottery and its' devotion to fund critical programs for Pennsylvania seniors; and

NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Tom Blaskiewicz for his professional achievements, and wishes him many happy years of retirement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, December 18, 2013 to be "Tom Blaskiewicz Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
