Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Zachary Taylor Fatla and Zachary Robert Elsesser and congratulates them on their advancement to the rank of Eagle Scouts.

WHEREAS, Zachary Taylor Fatla, 18 years old, and, Zachary Robert Elsesser, also 18 years old, have met all necessary requirements to advance to the Eagle Scout ranking within the Boy Scouts of America -  Eagle Scout is the highest Boy Scout rank; only five percent of all Boy Scouts earn this rank; and
 
WHEREAS, their parents, Elaine Fatla, Mark Fatla, Deborah Elsesser, and Ernest Choy, all residents of District 1 (and Ernest Choy is also Assistant Leader), are sharing in the celebration of their boys' accomplishments, as are the Leader of Troop 348, William Kunz (a Pittsburgh Police Officer who has been leading Boy Scouts for sixteen years), and Scout Leader Terrence Conroy (also an Eagle Scout), who has overseen their Eagle Scout projects, and Assistant Leader Mike Conroy (Terry's father and also an Eagle Scout); and
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Fatla and Mr. Elsesser, have served in Boy Scouts for 11 years and 12 years, respectively, and have both met all necessary requirements in areas of Leadership, Service, and Outdoor Skills to advance to Eagle Scout rank; and
 
WHEREAS, both Mr. Fatla and Mr. Elsesser completed their Eagle Project at the Arden Court Alzheimer Assisted Living Facility:  Mr. Fatla by refinishing a garden arbor, outdoor benches and garden planters, and Mr. Elsesser by repairing and refinishing outdoor tables and also refinishing outdoor benches; and
WHEREAS, these young men have earned the required number of merit badges, that signify their mastery in various Scoutcraft skills and in areas of personal interest, working to reach the goals of Boy Scouts in citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness;
