WHEREAS, Marion Romaine Reynolds was born on June 18 1940 and retired from the County of Allegheny Property Assessments on her birthday, June 18, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, Marion was the first born of eight siblings one sister and six brothers to her parents Andrew and Elizabeth Scott of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, she attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and later enrolled at the Community College of Allegheny County, where she earned a certificate as a teacher's assistant; and,
WHEREAS, Marion was employed by St. Richard's School, affiliated with St. Richard's Church in Pittsburgh which later became Saint Benedict the Moor Parish located in the Hill District. She later worked as an auto assembly worker at Volkswagen of New Stanton; and,
WHEREAS, in 1998, Marion began her career with Allegheny County Property Assessments. After 27 years of unwavering dedication, she retired at the age of 85. In Remarkably, she was never late and arrived at least 50 minutes early each day, using public transportation. She was always the first employee through the door, greeted only by the security guard; and,
WHEREAS, Marion's exceptional work ethic meant she rarely missed a day. She took vacation one day at a time and accumulated so much leave, supervisors had to urge her to take time off, even up to her retirement; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Reynolds is the proud mother of five children -two sons and three daughters- as well as a grandmother to 25 and great-grandmother to 34. She has always been a pillar of strength for her family, often raising her children on her own, supported by a strong and loving network of siblings and parents; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Marion Reynolds for her years of dedicated service to Allegheny County and congratulates her on her well-earned retirement; and extends heartfelt wishes for continued health, and many more joyful birthdays to come; and,
