Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Beatrice Hogan on her 60th birthday and dedication to the City of Pittsburgh, and does hereby declare June 16, 2009, to be “Bea Hogan Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Beatrice D Hogan is widely known as a devoted mother of three and loving grandmother of five; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hogan has served many through leadership roles in the City of Pittsburgh, including treasurer of the Northview Heights high rise where she currently resides; and
 
WHEREAS, the Northview Heights high rise is part of a 999 unit housing project opened by the Housing Authority of Pittsburgh in 1962, which offers low rent housing and wonderful amenities atop the hills of Pittsburgh's North Side; and
 
WHEREAS, it is interesting to note that Mrs. Hogan's first job was a position she held with the City of Pittsburgh Parks and Recreation Department for many years; and   
 
WHEREAS, as a true Pittsburgher, Bea worked in the steel industry with J&L Steel for 22 years; and
 
WHEREAS, Bea has been a Democratic Committee Member and Treasurer of the 26th Ward for over 30 years; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hogan was most recently appointed to the Housing Authority Board of Commissions, with a term to expire in 2011;
 
WHEREAS, Bea has just celebrated her 60th birthday and we would like to wish her many more to come.
