BODY
WHEREAS, Joey Fabus is a young man who does what not many people can; he faces adversity and illness with his head held high wearing a great big smile; and,
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, eight year old Joey Fabus, of Bethel Park was sworn in as an officer in the Bethel Park Police Department; that same day, he wrote his first ticket; and,
WHEREAS, on Thursday, July 17, 2014, his childhood dream came true when he joined the military and became Commander for a day at the 171st Air Refueling Wing; and,
WHEREAS, Joey comes from a family of military personnel including his sister Senior Airman, Force Support Squadron, Clarissa Fabus; three of his cousins: Staff Sgt. LeAnna Taracido, customer support liaison, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Staff Sgt. Keith Fabus, Security Forces Squadron and Staff Sgt. Brian Keller, Maintenance Squadron; and,
WHEREAS, in addition, his Uncle Joseph Fabus, is a Police Detective with the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and his Uncle James Burke is a Sergeant with the Dormont Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, Joey loves all things to do with Police, Garbage Trucks, and baseball; he also loves the Transformers, the "Bumble Bee" Transformer being his favorite; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Joey Fabus for his uncommon bravery in the face of affliction and his parents David and Cindy Fabus for continuing to give Joey the best life possible in spite of his circumstances; and,
TITLE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, August 29, 2014, to be "Joey Fabus Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
