WHEREAS, Trinity Renee Angeline Stanley was born in October of 2005 and was raised in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, when Trinity was 9 years old, she entered the fourth grade as a high honors student, citizenship awardee, and student body class ambassador; in addition, she is an active athlete and enthusiastic participant in extracurricular activities including art, music, gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, track and basketball; and,
WHEREAS, in April of 2015 Trinity was selected out of a pool of talented young girls to represent Pittsburgh as a State Finalist in the National American Miss pageant, which is an international pageant structured to develop, encourage, and award poise, self-confidence, communication skills, community service, patriotism, and lifelong skills, and is to be held in Harrisburg the week of August 11, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, Trinity chose to use the pageant platform to orchestrate a community outreach drive to collect teddy bears and story books for children with Sickle Cell disease and other chronic illness, as well as for grieving children who have suffered the loss of a parent or grandparent, and children of domestic violence survivors; her efforts so far have raised $900 in sponsorship support, 100 books and 20 teddy bears; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Trinity for her accomplishments at such a young age and wish her well at the upcoming pageant in Harrisburg and advancement to Nationals to be held in Los Angeles, California; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, July 28, 2015 to be “Trinity Renee Angeline Stanley for Miss PA Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
