Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby commend Ashley L. Cole for her talent and dedication to the fine art of poetry and we recognized her as Female Poet Laureate for 2004.

Whereas, Ashley L. Cole graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2004, completing her Bachelor degree of Arts within three years; and
 
Whereas, Ashley has focused her attention on the arts, using poetry as her vehicle of expression; and
 
Whereas, Ashley Cole has published a book titled "Echoing Epiphanies, A Soul Exposed" which features poems such as: Loyalty and Kindness, The Mirror, and A Coroner's Poem which describe her views on today's society; and
 
Whereas, Ashley recently had her poetry published in two separate books, one in the U.S. and one in the U.K.; and
 
Whereas, Ashley recently competed and won the 106JAMZ WAMO Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation's talent showcase held in Pittsburgh and the only adult to get a standing ovation.
