Resolution authorizing the Mayor through the Director of Public Safety to enter into In-Kind Sponsorship Agreements for the City’s Valentine’s on Ice event.

Body

WHEREAS, each February, the City presents Valentine’s on Ice, an annual skating event for couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day, including prizes, dancing, giveaways, and other entertainment, presented at the Schenley Park Ice Rink; and

WHEREAS, various businesses and groups are willing to provide support for Valentine’s on Ice in exchange for sponsorship opportunities and the City of Pittsburgh is will to accept such arrangements.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     The Mayor through the Director of Public Safety is authorized to enter into in-kind sponsorship agreements with various businesses and groups for the 2018 Valentine’s on Ice event. The City will provide opportunities for promotion, recognition and other benefits in exchange for support by goods, services, and/or cash.

Section 2.                     All financial contributions received under the in-kind sponsorship agreements referenced herein will be deposited into the Special Event Trust Fund JDE# 5000731400.48106.00
