WHEREAS, The BGC Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering Pittsburgh’s inner-city youth through mentorship, education, digital inclusion, and advocacy. They recognize the systemic challenges faced by young people in urban communities and strive to create a supportive environment where they can thrive emotionally, academically, and socially and;
WHEREAS, BGC Foundation is led by Sondra Hunter, CEO of Tech Savvy consultants, Fueled by unyielding passion,relentless drive and unwavering resilience she set out on a mission to empower our youth and help them recognize futures with no boundaries. Sondra is a technologist with over 20 years experience in the field who also serves as a professor of technology and cybersecurity and;
WHEREAS, Since their founding, BGC has positively impacted the lives of countless youth. Their mentorship initiatives have fostered increased confidence, academic improvement, and purpose-driven growth. BGC’s educational and digital inclusion programs have raised literacy and tech fluency rates, introducing youth to essential tools for the future. As a result, they are preparing a generation of youth who are both informed and empowered to lead and;
WHEREAS, BGC’s success is rooted in its bold, forward-thinking approach and its unwavering belief in the potential of every young person. As the organization continues to grow, it remains a trailblazer in education, equity, and innovation for youth in urban communities and;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate BGC Foundation for their exemplary work addressing the holistic needs of underserved communities and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, June 10th, 2025 to be “BGC Foundation Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
