Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with Tree Pittsburgh to support seasonal tree care in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) over a period of one (1) year.

Whereas, Tree Pittsburgh is a non-profit organization that has supported and continues to support the City of Pittsburgh through their community-driven planting and care of trees, in compliance with the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Public Works' Forestry Division; and
Whereas, the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission generates funds to support municipal improvement projects pursuant to City of Pittsburgh, PA Code of Ordinances, Chapter 487; and
Whereas, Tree Pittsburgh has provided routine tree care at a minimum of 500 trees, including weeding, mulching, litter clearing, pruning, reforestation site visits throughout the City to inspect more than 1,000 young trees to ensure deer caging and stakes are intact, made possible through Tree Pittsburgh staff, Tree Tenders, community volunteers, and workforce development partners supervised by an ISA Certified Arborist, and the education and engagement of residents in tree care; and
Whereas, this objective is to support Tree Pittsburgh's staff time and fuel costs of the aforementioned activities, completing the work in all nine council districts, being tracked in TreeKeeper and reported to the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with Tree Pittsburgh to support seasonal tree care in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) over a period of one (1) year, chargeable and payable from the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission Trust Fund job number 4000285300.54105.00.
