Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a Sponsorship Agreement for the support of the City of Pittsburgh’s Citisports Baseball and Softball teams.

WHEREAS, the City annually operates neighborhood baseball and softball leagues throughout the City at the City’s parks; and

 

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Pirates Charities desires to provide the City with sponsorship support for Citisports baseball and softball programs for the 2019 season, and the parties wish to enter into a Presenting Sponsorship Agreement.

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation are authorized to enter into a Presenting Sponsorship Agreement with the Pittsburgh Pirates Charities for the 2019 Citisports baseball and softball season.  The sponsorship amount is FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00), to be deposited into the following account: JDE 5029400263.48106.  In addition, The Pittsburgh Pirates Charities will offer in-kind support to the Citisports baseball and softball teams in the form of supplying equipment to the teams.

 

Section 2.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation are further authorized to enter into agreements and contracts, or utilize existing agreements or contracts, at a cost not to exceed FIFTEEN THOUSAND ($15,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of supporting the Citisports baseball and softball teams through helping the City pay for the referees under the terms of the agreement between the City of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Pirates Charities; chargeable to and payable from the Grants Trust Fund Account 5029400263.50000.00.
