• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Style Week Pittsburgh for its commitment to using high fashion as an avenue to bring new economic development to the City of Pittsburgh. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim August 12-16, 2015 as "Style Week Pittsburgh" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh was created as a vehicle to springboard Pittsburgh front and center into the world state of fashion; and,

WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh returns for its third year August 12 through 16, featuring five unique events beginning with a Designer Fashion Show at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater on August 12^th; and,

WHEREAS, the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Perle, LUXE's East Liberty Showroom, and Market Square will serve as backdrops for events ranging from fashion shows and an awards ceremony to a pop-up marketplace; and,

WHEREAS, boutiques, designers, artisans, models, and stylists will showcase their offerings during select events; and,

WHEREAS, Style Week Pittsburgh’s signature fashion-focused events will illuminate the city of Pittsburgh under the international fashion spotlight, while enhancing fashion awareness, diversity, and inclusion within the region.
