Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Deaconess Freddie Banks for her life dedicated to serving the Lord and her community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, January 5, 2020, to be "Deaconess Freddie Banks Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Deaconess Freddie Banks was born on January 5, 1920 in Millry, AL. She relocated to Pittsburgh in the 1940’s; and,

 

WHEREAS, Deaconess Banks joined Monumental Baptist Church in 1948. In 1949 she married her husband, the late Wilber Banks; and,

 

WHEREAS, Deaconess Banks served in the following ministries beginning in the years associated until the ministries dissolved or she was no longer able to perform: Women’s Adult Usher Board 1955, RW Twigs Missionary until dissolved, Sunday School Participant, Senior Choir in 1960 until recent just to name a few; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Deaconess Freddie Banks for her life dedicated to serving the Lord and her community; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, January 5, 2020, to be “Deaconess Freddie Banks Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
