Title
Resolution providing that City Council retain its own professional attorney relative to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority for Cities of the Second Class (ICA) and implementation of Act 47, at a cost not to exceed $5,000.
Body
WHEREAS, Council shall exercise its power granted by Section 310(a) of the Home Rule Charter; and,
WHEREAS, Council shall retain its own attorney who is qualified to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and said attorney shall act as legal advisor to Council relative to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority (ICA) and implementation of Act 47; and,
WHEREAS, prior to retaining its own attorney, the name of the individual attorney and/or law firm who will provide legal services to Council and the fees to be expended for services shall be approved by a majority of Council Members.
Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. That City Council shall retain its own professional attorney relative to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority for Cities of the Second Class and implementation of Act 47, at a cost not to exceed $5,000, chargeable to and payable from Fund 1000, Organization 101200, Sub Class 150, FY 2001, Account 525500, City Clerk.
NOTE: I do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance duly engrossed and certified, was delivered by me to the Mayor for his approval of disapproval and that the Mayor failed to approve or disapprove the same, whereupon it became law without his approval, under the provisons of the Act of the Assembly in such case made and provided.
