WHEREAS, every Pittsburgher deserves to live with value and dignity, to feel secure from targeted acts of violence and discriminatory language, and to be seen and heard without fear or favor; and,
WHEREAS, Stand For All Pittsburgh was created to unify neighbors, organizations, and leaders across southwestern Pennsylvania in a collective commitment to prevent, identify, and address bias and hate incidents; and,
WHEREAS, the coalition builds trust and fosters relationships across cultural, linguistic, neighborhood, and demographic differences, offering a platform for learning, understanding, and solidarity; and,
WHEREAS, Stand For All Pittsburgh provides vital support to community members who are targets of hate and bias, while working in collaboration with local and regional government agencies, faith-based institutions, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations; and,
WHEREAS, United Against Hate Week is a national initiative that brings communities together to reject hate, bigotry, and bias in all forms, and to affirm the values of dignity, safety, and belonging for all; and,
WHEREAS, this year’s United Against Hate Week will occur during the week of October 19; and,
WHEREAS, United Against Hate Week calls on City leaders, diverse community organizations, residents, schools, local businesses, and faith groups to work together to prevent violence and discriminatory acts, a mission embodied daily in the work of Stand For All Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Stand For All Pittsburgh for its leadership in building a broad and inclusive coalition committed to countering hate and bias in all forms; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the week of October 19-25, 2025, as “United Against Hate Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.
