WHEREAS, on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, Heiber's Pharmacy, located at 3500 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be celebrating its storefront and interior renovations
WHEREAS, Heiber's Pharmacy's new storefront has contributed to the business community's continued presence in the Oakland area and to preserve its mark as one of Pittsburgh's oldest independently owned pharmacies.
WHEREAS, owner, Joseph Bettinger, recognizes a strong neighborhood business as a community contributor allowing Oakland residents to benefit from access to community-driven customer service.
WHEREAS, Heiber's Pharmacy's updated façade has aided in rejuvenating the business community and continuing its efforts to serve its customers.
WHEREAS, Heiber's Pharmacy's renovations were made possible through the Urban Redevelopment Authority's "Street Face Program" and the "Oakland's Business Improvement District".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh congratulates Joseph Bettinger, owner of Heiber's Pharmacy, for his outstanding contributions to The Oakland community and for striving to improve its service to customers and the business community for years to come.
