Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Department of City Planning to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with E. Holdings, Inc. prepare a feasibility study for the reconceptualization and reinstallation of the Cantini mosaic, at a cost not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00).

WHEREAS, the Cantini mosaic is a piece of City-owned artwork formerly installed in a pedestrian underpass below Bigelow Boulevard, and removed during the construction of the I-579 “Cap” Project; and
WHEREAS, being a historically and culturally valuable asset, it was determined that the mosaic should be preserved and reinstalled in a context and location to be determined at a later date; and
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2020, the Office of Management and Budget released a Request for Proposals to solicit qualified professionals with experience in art consulting and project management, to prepare a feasibility study which will include, but not be limited to, site research, stakeholder and consulting party outreach, and budget analysis, and will result in a comprehensive analysis of project options with recommendations for future action. A selection committee chose a proposal by E. Holdings, Inc.; and.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Authorizing the Mayor and the Department of City Planning to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with E. Holdings, Inc. prepare a feasibility study for the reconceptualization and reinstallation of the Cantini mosaic, at a cost not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), and payable from fund 40119, JDE account 1174300019.50000.00.
Section 2. The form and substance of this Agreement shall be approved by the City Solicitor.
