WHEREAS Operation Save One was created to unite the community in effectively fighting against violence; and
WHEREAS Operation Save One hopes to partner with community organizations and individuals who are committed to making a positive and lasting difference within our community for a month-long declaration of peace in the month of June; and
WHEREAS homicide rates typically rise in the summer months, which is one reason why Operation Save One is sponsoring a Peace 4/30 Days campaign this month; and
WHEREAS the hope of the campaign is that if we implement, facilitate, and act upon realistic and workable peace solutions continuously throughout the month of June, we can accomplish a wonderful start to a long and peaceful summer.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh supports Operation Save One's Peace 4/30 Days initiative; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the month of June "The Month of Peace and Reconciliation".
