Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend the Monumental Baptist Church for its commitment to remain as a pillar for the community, and more importantly as a staple in the City of Pittsburgh; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does herby proclaim Saturday, November 5, 2011 as the "Monumental Baptist Church" day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on Sunday November 6, 2011, the Monumental Baptist Church will celebrate their 95th Church Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, the celebration will begin with a banquet, to be held on Saturday November 5th, at the Radisson Hotel, Pittsburgh/Greentree and the celebration will end Sunday morning with special presentations, and
 
WHEREAS, Reverend Keith L. Parham, Pastor of First Baptist Church, will serve as both banquet preacher, and bring the Sunday Morning Worship Message.  Other Special guests include soloist Sister Karen Rice, of the Calvary Baptist Church, and
 
WHEREAS, the theme of the church anniversary is "WE ARE JUST PASSING THROUGH- PSALM 78:13. "He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as a heap."
