Title
An Ordinance amending and supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title Two Fiscal, Article VII, Business Related Taxes, Chapter 253 Parking Tax, by increasing the rate from 31% to36% effective January 1, 2004, and increased to 50% effective July 1, 2004.

Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 253.02 of the Pittsburgh Code is hereby amended and supplemented to read as follows:
253.02 TAX LEVY AND RATE
A tax for general revenue purposes is hereby imposed upon each patron entering into a parking transaction, at the rate of [thirty-one (31)] to fifty (50) percent thirty-six (36%) effective January 1, 2004, and increased to fifty (50%) percent effective July 1, 2004
(a) of the consideration for each such transaction, which tax shall be collected by the operator from the patron, and shall be paid over to the Treasurer as provided in this Chapter.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective January 1, 2004.
NOTE: I do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance duly engrossed and certified, was delivered by me to the Mayor for his approval of disapproval and that the Mayor failed to approve or disapprove the same, whereupon it became law without his approval, under the provisons of the Act of the Assembly in such case made and provided.
