Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh salutes the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program for effectively serving the needs of veterans and their families in Pittsburgh for over twenty years; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends Ed Vogel, for serving his country with distinction and valor during his service time, and continuing to serve his fellow veterans with great dedication.

WHEREAS, for over twenty years, the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program has effectively addressed existing and emerging needs facing all local veterans and their families; and
 
WHEREAS, some of the services provided by the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program include career development assistance, transitional and permanent housing assistance to homeless veterans, parenting support and case management services; and
 
WHEREAS, for the past fifteen years, the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program has honored a worthy individual whose life and work reflect a personal commitment to veterans;
 
WHEREAS, this year, the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program will present Ed Vogel with the Veteran of the Year Award, the highest recognition the organization bestows at it's Fifteenth Annual Partners in Leadership Awards on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Westin Convention Center; and
