Whereas, the Borough of Mt. Oliver has been awarded federal Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding in the amount of $745,714 for the Brownsville Road Streetscape Improvement Project which includes the replacement of sidewalks, landscaping, and lighting on both sides of Brownsville Road between Bausman Street and Margaret Street (the "Project");

Whereas, the Borough of Mt. Oliver received the federal funds contingent upon the City of Pittsburgh providing matching funds for the grant;

Whereas, the construction portion of the Project will include the Borough of Mt. Oliver installing conduits in the City of Pittsburgh's right of way along Brownsville Road;

Whereas, the City will install approximately 16 light poles and fixtures at a future date for which the value of the light poles and fixtures will be considered as the matching funds for the construction portion of the grant;

Whereas, the Borough of Mt. Oliver has requested that the City of Pittsburgh fund a portion of the engineering fees;

Whereas, the City of Pittsburgh has agreed to reimburse the Borough of Mt. Oliver for a portion of the engineering fees and the reimbursement amount will not exceed $75,000.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section1.

The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure are hereby authorized to enter into a reimbursement agreement with the Borough of Mt. Oliver, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, pursuant to which City will reimburse the Borough of Mt. Oliver in an amount not to exceed $75,000 from the above-m...
