WHEREAS, 2011 marks the 125th anniversary of the Master Builders' Association of Western Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, at their first meeting on March 19, 1886, a group of builders representing the East End, South Side, Allegheny City and the Old City of Pittsburg met to devise a way to improve the conditions of general contractors and, that was the beginning of the Master Builders Association of Allegheny County; and
WHEREAS, the Master Builders' Association of Western Pennsylvania is a member-driven association committed to improving the construction industry through excellent service in safety & health, government relations, employee & labor relations, education and training; and
WHEREAS, the MBA's goals set high industry standards for its membership who are known for their skill, integrity and responsibility; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the Master Builders Association of Western Pennsylvania for 125 years of service to the construction trades and unions industries of Western Pennsylvania, always delivering a quality product we can all be proud to say it was made in America; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Council hereby declares Saturday, March 19, 2011 to be "Master Builders' Association of Western Pennsylvania Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
