Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes Robert O. Agbede for his leadership and congratulates him, his Board of Directors, Management Team and Staff. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares today, Tuesday, September 26, 2006, as "Robert O. Agbede and Chester Engineers Day" in this Great City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, Robert O. Agbede, President and CEO, will celebrate the renaming of ATS-Chester Engineers to Chester Engineers in the beautiful historic setting of the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh; and,
 
WHEREAS, Chester Engineers, based in Moon Township, is one of the largest engineering companies in the United States.  It is also the largest African-American owned engineering firm in the United States; and,
 
WHEREAS, a few of the many projects in which Chester Engineers has recently been involved in Pittsburgh are the North Shore Development, Heinz Field, David L. Lawrence Convention Center, and PNC Park; and,
 
WHEREAS, Chester Engineers has recently been awarded a contract by the Bahamas Water & Sewage Corporation (WSC) to provide engineering and planning services for a state-of-the-art wastewater and sewerage treatment plant in Nassau; and,
 
WHEREAS, this project is described as an "anchor project" for WSC, and is intended to satisfy the needs of existing and upcoming residential development in the Gladstone Road area of Nassau, as well as the expected needs of the planned $2 billion Baha Mar Development.
