WHEREAS, Joseph Karas, son of Ronald and Doreen Karas, is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 66 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in boy scouts; and
WHEREAS, Joseph will be honored at a Ceremony on November 20, 2006 at the Sheraden Community Presbyterian Church; and
WHEREAS, Joseph's Eagle Scout Project improved the interior conditions of the Guardian Angels Catholic Parish in Crafton Heights by removing existing wooden choir risers and built a new, larger structure, installed new pews to replace folding chairs and installed carpet to match the existing floor covering at Guardian Angels Church; and
WHEREAS, with Joseph's leadership, the project was completed and is now enjoyed by members of the Guardian Angels Parish; and
WHEREAS, only those young men who have been outstanding in scouting, have the esteem of their community and fellow scouts and serve in a position of responsibility and leadership obtain Eagle Scout status, the highest rank in Boy Scouts.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates Eagle Scout Joseph Karas on his recent achievements and commends him for all of his accomplishments.
