WHEREAS, Get Involved!, Inc., was founded in 2011 by Tom Baker to provide programs that develop, educate, and engage students and young professionals in order to encourage them to become active assets to their communities; and,
WHEREAS, On February 26, 2013, the Fourth Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit will take place at Carlow University and will give recognition to outstanding activists and individuals for their positive contributions to their community. The event, which is open to the public, will also feature a variety of local vendors who will be available to educate attendees about ways they can become more civically involved. Ian Rosenberger, Saleem Ghubril, Dr. Kevin Kearns, and Sally Wiggin will be featured as keynote speakers; and,
WHEREAS, This year's honorees include the following meritorious individuals:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Get Involved!, Inc., for their commitment to fostering the development of young leaders into civically active community assets, and for hosting the 4th Annual Pittsburgh Service Summit to honor the achievements of 28 individuals from the region whose work has made a difference in their communities; and,
