WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has historically showcased a great variety of musical talent, producing many award winning hall of fame honored musicians, as well as a faithful following of avid record collectors; and,
WHEREAS, Jerry Weber's love for all musical genres has made his huge all-vinyl store a destination for music lovers from across the United States and around the world, further proving that music truly is a universal language that can be understood by all; and,
WHEREAS, Jerry's Fine Used Records, has operated successfully for more than forty years, first opening in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Oakland and currently located in Squirrel Hill. Jerry's Records provides music loving Pittsburghers the opportunity to both buy and sell their vinyl albums; and,
WHEREAS, Jerry's Records was voted one of America's 25 Best Record Stores by Rolling Stone Magazine, placing this Pittsburgh gem on the map for world renowned music appreciation and recognition; and,
WHEREAS, In addition to his passion and dedication to the art of music and vinyl records, Jerry Weber is also the proud father to his two children, Johnna and Willie, owner of Willie's Records, and dedicated grandfather to his granddaughter Jade; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does recognize and congratulate Jerry Weber for his successful business, and thank him for his tireless commitment to finding and providing affordable music for all people who appreciate the beauty and wonder of vinyl records; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, April 15h, 2014, to be Jerry Records Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
