Resolution authorizing the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh to submit grant applications to and execute relevant agreements with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources under the Community Conservation Partnerships Program.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh is authorized to submit the following grant applications to and execute relevant agreements with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources under their Community Conservation Partnerships Program.  All applications require a local match (50/50).  The applications are:

 

1.                     The development of a rectangular athletic field at Brighton Heights Park.  Total project cost $500,000.  Grant request of $250,000.

 

2.                     The rehabilitation of the Chapel Shelter / Community Center in Riverview Park.  Total project cost of $500,000.  Grant request of $250,000.

 

3.                     Invasive plant control and management in the Nine Mile Run area of lower Frick Park and the Frick Park extension.  Total project cost of $120,000.  Grant request of $60,000.

 

4.                     A Natural Systems Study focused on the four regional parks.  Total project cost of $250,000.  Grant request of $125,000.

 

5.                     Connective Trail Sign System to facilitate non automobile travel between the four regional parks and the riverfront trail system.  Total project cost of $120,000.  Grant request of $60,000.
