Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Eileen Papale; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, December 11, 2018, to be "Eileen Papale Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Eileen Papale was born in Pittsburgh Municipal Hospital, raised in the Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh; and,

 

WHEREAS, Eileen has maintained city residency her entire life while raising two children who also live and work in the City of Pittsburgh; and,

 

WHEREAS, Eileen has been tremendously active in her community by volunteering and maintaining affiliations with numerous organizations ranging from the South Pittsburgh Development Corporation, Brookline Block Watch, Allegheny County Democratic Committee, Brookline Memorial Park Playground Committee and many more; and,

 

WHEREAS, Eileen has worked for the city during the administrations of six different Mayors making herself indispensable to projects ranging from sports stadiums, to libraries, hospitals, and universities; and,

 

WHEREAS, Eileen’s 39-year career in the City has made her an essential resource for City Councilmembers and staff because of her dedication to research, writing, field work, legal testimony, and interdepartmental cooperation; and,

 

WHEREAS, Eileen’s expertise, dedication, and commitment to Pittsburgh will be missed; and,
