Title
Ordinance amending and supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title Nine, Zoning, Chapter 919, Signs, by changing various language as it relates to Signs.
 
 
Body
Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Pittsburgh Code, Title Nine, Zoning, Chapter 919, Signs, is hereby amended and supplemented, as follows:
 
 
Chapter 919, Subsection 919.01.C Special Definitions, is supplemented by adding the following:
1.a.(6) Displays that meet any criteria as defined in 919.01 a (1)-(5) that use electricity.
 
Chapter 919, Subsection 919.01.C 12 is amended by deleting the current language and replacing with new language, as follows:
12.      [Electronic Message Sign means a sign with changing text or graphics generated by electronic components. ]
 12.      Electronic Sign means a sign incorporating any form of electricity and is inclusive but not limited to any of the above special definitions using electricity as well as advertising signs, electronic message signs, LED signs and displays, plasma signs or displays and any other past or future medium using electricity, or any other source of power to create the illumination.
 
 
Chapter 919 is hereby supplemented by adding Section 919.05 as follows:
919.05 Sign Replacement, Substitution or Trade Agreements
 
Any agreement involving sign replacement, substitution and or trade of signs using any past or future medium with any organization or private business must be first be approved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh.
 
Section 2.  This legislation will be come effective immediately upon passage.
