The Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby thank the Pittsburgh Financial Planners association continued success and does hereby declares the week of October 7-13, 2003, "Financial Planning Week" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Financial Planning Association was founded in 1969 and is the oldest and largest no-profit organization of its type in the world; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Financial Planning Association has more that 14,000 members in all 50 states and 23 countries and 400 members in the Greater Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania area; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Financial Planning Association is the only industry-wide organization that provides an exchange of knowledge and experience among professionals in all areas of the financial services industry; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Financial Planning Association and 20 of Western Pennsylvania's top financial planning companies sponsored the Pittsburgh area's first free public forum on financial planning entitled "Planning Pays Off: Making the Most of your Money"; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Financial planning association will feature the latest financial planning strategies, tools, and information designed to help local residents make the most of their money and meet personal financial goals.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby encourage its citizens to attend the Pittsburgh Financial Planning Association's workshops; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby thank the Pittsburgh Financial Planners association continued success and does hereby declare the week of October 7-13, 2003, "Financial Planning Week" in the City of Pittsburgh.
