Title
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Building Inspection of the City of Pittsburgh regulates the construction, demolition and occupancy of all buildings and structures within the City and reviews, approves and issues all permits required by code for the repair, alteration or addition to all public and private buildings which ultimately meets its mission of providing safety and a better quality of life to the residents of the City of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Building Inspection employs an outstanding staff of Building Inspectors who work tirelessly to carry out the mission of the Department; and,
WHEREAS, Jane Siford has worked for the City of Pittsburgh for seventeen years, most recently as a Senior Building Inspector, primarily serving the neighborhoods of Hazelwood and Greenfield as well as other communities; and,
WHEREAS, Jane Siford is a consummate professional in every sense of the word, addressing complaints in a fair and unbiased manner, enforcing code in the most difficult situations while executing her job with the highest integrity; and,
WHEREAS, Jane is a founding member of a luncheon group of Building Inspectors known as The Three Blind Mice Society.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Jane Siford for her years of exemplary service to the Bureau of Building Inspection and the City of Pittsburgh and wishes her many years of good health in her well deserved retirement which commences on Monday, May 12, 2008.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, May 12, 2008, to be "JANE SIFORD DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
