WHEREAS, Harry Coffey was born in the City of Pittsburgh and graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School; and
WHEREAS, Raye Friedken was born in the City of Pittsburgh and graduated from Schenley High School; and
WHEREAS, Harry Coffey and Raye Friedken wed on January 15, 1956, in City of Pittsburgh and became Harry and Raye Coffey; and,
WHEREAS, Harry and Raye Coffey lived in Stanton Heights with their daughter, Ivy and son, Mark, who both attended Peabody High School; and
WHEREAS, Harry and Raye Coffey and their third child, son Hal, moved Monroeville in 1981; and
WHEREAS, Harry Coffey was the principal owner of Empire Furniture Company in Bloomfield for many decades; and
WHEREAS, Harry and Raye Coffey have also welcomed daughter-in-law Mindy
Coffey, grandchildren Oliver Coffey and Carlin Coffey and daughter-in-law Erica Baum Coffey over the years; and
WHEREAS, the friends and family of Harry and Raye Coffey will gather on January 15, 2006, at Lidia's Restaurant in the Strip District to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of City of Pittsburgh does hereby wish Harry and Raye Coffey a very happy anniversary; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares Sunday, January 15, 2006, to be "HARRY AND RAYE COFFEY DAY" IN THE City of Pittsburgh.
