• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh extends best wishes to Anna A. Carlino on the occasion of her 95th birthday. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that September 21, 2004 be hereby declared "Anna Carlino Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Anna A. Carlino will commemorate the occasion of her 95^th birthday with a joyous celebration of her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Carlino, the daughter of John and Marietta Capreta, was born on September 21, 1909, in Dunbar, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, Anna A. Capreta was married to Joseph Carlino on June 28, 1928, at which time they set up household in the Bloomfield section of the City of Pittsburgh, where she remains today.  Their happy union lasted sixty-seven years, and produced four sons, Augie, John, Sam and Joe.  Anna's beloved husband, Joe, passed in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Carlino is the proud and loving grandmother of twenty-one grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, a favorite expression of Mrs. Carlino is:

"The worst democrat is better than any republican."
